Police Update

Published: 23 March 2017

We continue to experience a very low crime rate in the area, however, there have been 3 crimes covering the period 1st March to the 22nd March.
Sometime between the 2nd and 6th March a flat bed truck was stolen from the Sanigar Lane area of Newtown. Offenders have removed the vehicle without keys whilst it was parked within a farm area.
Overnight between the 3rd and 4th March in the Woodford area offenders have smashed the passenger window of a van parked on the main road and stolen a number of power tools.
Also, a similar offence took place at the Marina in Sharpness where a number of power tools valued around £600 have been stolen.
Our colleagues at Avon and Somerset police also inform us that they have experienced similar thefts!
We had also had two reports of panel vans driving around the area looking into properties and driving very slow, one white and one blue panel van. Both are registered to people in the Birmingham area. Please call 101 if you see anything suspicious.
Our neighbourhood panel meeting took place on the 2nd March and the priority chosen by local residents is Anti-social behaviour with attention to speeding and drug dealing/use.
